Islamabad, August 10, 2026: A delegation of Gunvor Group, a Switzerland-based global energy trading company, called on Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik today and expressed interest in exploring further investment opportunities in Pakistan’s energy sector.

The delegation comprised Mr. Shahb Richyal, Global Director Investment Portfolio, and Mr. Seth Thomas Pietras, Corporate Affairs Director.

During the meeting, the Gunvor delegation appreciated the Government of Pakistan’s efforts towards deregulation of the energy market, noting that the opening up of the downstream market would enhance efficiency, competition and create new opportunities for international investors.

The delegation expressed particular interest in Pakistan’s Refinery Policy, stating that the policy had opened new avenues for investment and cooperation. They also showed interest in the upcoming Bonded Storage Policy, terming it an important development that could further facilitate investment and trading activities in Pakistan.

The delegation observed that Pakistan offered significant opportunities for investment and said that “this is a good market to be in.” They expressed interest in exploring further capital investment opportunities in the country.

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik said that Pakistan was making significant strides towards deregulation of the energy market and was committed to creating a competitive, transparent and investor-friendly environment.

The Minister highlighted the potential for greater cooperation with Gunvor in the LPG sector and invited the company to explore emerging opportunities as Pakistan continues its energy sector reforms.

Both sides agreed to remain engaged and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation and investment in Pakistan’s energy sector. Ends
