ISLAMAABD : The Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guaranteed (CPPA-G) has sought positive adjustment of Rs 2.52 per unit in Fuel Charges adjustment (FCA) for July 2026 to recover additional Rs 36.54 billon from consumers of Discos and K-Electric due to expensive higher generation as generation from RLNG was Rs 47 per unit.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has scheduled a public hearing on August 27, 2026 on a petition of CPPA-G
According to CPPA-G, the cost of generation from local coal was Rs 10.4174 per unit, imported coal Rs 16.3348 per unit, HSD, Rs 54.4796 per unit, RFO Rs 50.0756 per unit, indigenous gas Rs 13.7717 per unit, RLNG, Rs 47.3798 per unit, nuclear Rs 3.0299 per unit, import from Iran Rs 26.2183 per unit, baggasse Rs 10.8821 per unit,.
According to data submitted by CPPA-G, total electricity generation during July 2026 stood at 15,122 GWh, with hydropower accounting for the largest share of 6,019 GWh, or 39.81 percent.
Coal-based generation comprised 3,819 GWh, including 1,650 GWh from local coal and 2,169 GWh from imported coal. RLNG-based generation stood at 1,629 GWh, nuclear power 1,527 GWh, gas 990 GWh, wind 682 GWh and solar 106 GWh.
The total generation cost was calculated at Rs162.549 billion, equivalent to Rs10.7495 per kWh whereas reference price was Rs 7.0929 /kWh.
After adjustment for the previous period amounting to negative Rs21.720 billion, sale to IPPs of negative Rs1.459 billion and transmission losses of 594 GWh, the net electricity delivered to DISCOs was 14,501 GWh at a cost of Rs139.370 billion, or Rs9.6112 per kWh whereas reference price was Rs 7.0929 /kWh.
The positive adjustment will be passed on to the consumers in bill of September 2026 .
