KARACHI, : Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has announced the commencement of oil production from well Dhok Sultan-03 under the Appraisal / Extended Well Testing (EWT) arrangement, effective November 1, 2025. Dhok Sultan Block, located in District Attock, Punjab, is operated by PPL with 75 percent working interest (WI) along with its Joint Venture Partner, Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL) with WI of 25 percent.
The joint venture is handling oil from the well at Dhok Sultan Oil Handling Facility and gas is transported at Meyal Gas Processing Facility. The oil is being sold to Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) and gas is being sold to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) as per government designated buyers. This arrangement has provided the potential to ramp up production up to 1,400 barrels per day of oil, 2.5 MMscfd of gas and 15 Tons per day of LPG.
The foregoing will contribute positively towards reducing the gap between energy supply and demand, while also conserving significant foreign exchange through the production of indigenous hydrocarbons. PPL remains committed to enhance its hydrocarbon production in a cost-effective manner to ensure long-term energy security for the country and support national economic growth.
