PMO seeks background details of proposed new names for PD’s Companies Boards

ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Office (PMO) has sought background details of proposed names of new Members of Boards of different companies falling under the administrative control of Power Division .

Minister for Power, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has finalized the new names for the Boards of different companies, but no one knows what was criteria of their nomination.

Sources told NewzShewz that Power Division had shared fourteen names for induction in Boards of Gencos Holding Company Limited (GHCL),  Jamshoro Power Generation Company  Limited (JPCL), Central Power Generation Company Limited (CPGCL), Northern Power Generation Company Limited (NPGCL), Lakhra Power Generation Company (LPGCL), National Power Parks Management Company Limited (NPPMCL),  addition of Independent Directors in Power Planning and Monitoring Company (PPMC) and Gujranwala Electric Power Company.

 The proposed names are as follow, Sheikh Imran ul Haq, Zaheer Ahmed Ghanghro, Ms Fatima Asad, Amir Hamza, Syed Asif Shah, Naeem Ilyas Khanani, Imran Ghazanvi, Syed Taveer Ahmed Jafri, Ms, Ameena Sohail, Sajjad Asghar Khan Shahani, Ikram Qureshi, Haque Nawaz and Danish Elahi.

 The sources said, Power Division has not included two new names for Multan Electric Power Company(MEPCO), which says that one members, Imran Zaffar  has resigned whereas another member is not attending meetings. Hence two new members of appointed from the private sector.

 The Cabinet Division, in a communication with all the federal ministries has informed that the government has decided that the nominees of the BoDs of State Owned Entities (SOEs) have to undergo clearance from the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB).
