ISLAMABAD: Acknowledging existence Monkey Pox (MPox) found in the body of traveler from Gulf state, the government has activated screening at airports.
This was disclosed by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Prime Minister’s Coordinator on National Health Services at a press conference, convened to share update with the public “upset” due to misinformation about its spread.
“The person who travelled from the gulf region was tested positive in KPK”, he said, adding that after detection of Mpox in the body of person led to prompt action by the authorities concerned.
According to the PM’s Coordinator family members of the affected person in KPK has been isolated.
He said provincial authorities who are dealing the affected persons, have been directed to ensure all the precautionary measures on the airports.
He advised those people who travel from abroad especially Middle East to isolate themselves in the first phase if they develop any symptom of rash, flu, fever and body ache, adding that the virus transmits through contact and mostly fever and pain related medicines are used by the patients.
