ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for the Power Division, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, has taken a significant step toward promoting transparency and informed policymaking by directing that energy sector data be made accessible to the public, researchers, energy experts, and students.
According to an official statement, the minister emphasized that open access to reliable and accurate data would enable stakeholders to provide constructive and meaningful recommendations for improving the power sector. He underscored the importance of data transparency for evidence-based discussions and effective reforms.
He noted that making data easily available to all would enhance accountability and strengthen public trust in the power sector. The minister further stated that this initiative would help eliminate speculation, misinformation, and news reports based on inaccurate or incomplete figures related to the sector.
Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparency and informed decision-making, adding that broader access to energy data would support research, innovation, and long-term planning in the energy sector.
