ISLAMABAD: Iranian Company M/s SUNIR has approached the Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif requesting him to despatch a delegation to Tehran for settlement of issues to start of second part of phase one of transmission line to connect Gwadar.
In a letter to Prime Minister, the Company’s Managing Director / Member of the Board has apprised that as the former is well aware that after signing the Amendment no. 2(A) and accordingly his special instructions, SUNIR started the execution work of Gwadar Transmission Line immediately even before starting the contractual date. The result of support from Prime Minister and all NTDC project members and hardworking of SUNIR was completion of 30 KM Transmission line from Polan till Jiwani-Gwadar interconnection point i.e. 132 kV line on February 5, 2023 despite of security problems in Balochistan, heavy rains, flood and dust storms which the Company did all related and required works to connect the Gwadar transmission line to the transmission line in Iran and also to Jiwani-Gwadar interconnection point i.e. 132 kV line .
Now since, the Company’s all machineries, equipment, site office, warehouse, and execution team are at site and from other side all transmission line materials are according to the technical specifications of 220 kV in order to execute the complete Transmission Line (75 km) and related GIS Grid Station, Prime Minister should instruct the start of second part of phase one (the related contract and its amendments are already signed and the Company is ready to start the work with same price according to Contract and related amendments ) in Gwadar project including approximately 46 km transmission line (220 kV) and GIS Grid Station.
As this project is very important for Gwadar development and increase the import of power up to 500 MW and also is very important for the people of Balochistan and development of Gwadar. the Company has requested Prime Minister to send high level delegation to Iran so that we can finalize/settle all issues.
The letter has also been addressed to the Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Muhammad Ali.
