ISLAMABAD : Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO), the nation’s leading energy company, today commemorated 50 years of strategic partnership with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), a relationship that has supplied Pakistan with Gasoil and Jet Fuel without interruption since 1975.
Few commercial relationships in Pakistan’s energy sector have run for half a century. This one has held through changing markets, global crises and every shift in the energy landscape, tested by precisely the conditions that break lesser arrangements and strengthened by each of them. Senior leadership of both companies convened to honour that record and to set the direction for what comes next.
PSO extends its sincere appreciation to the Government of Pakistan, its leadership, the Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Energy, and the National Commodity Management Committee (NCMC), whose policy stewardship and enabling framework have made energy cooperation of this kind possible, sustaining the resilience of the supply chain and deepening the enduring ties between Pakistan and the State of Kuwait.
Fifty years is a foundation, not a finish line. Building on five decades of collaboration, the two companies are exploring opportunities to widen the partnership: expanded product cooperation in Motor Gasoline, LPG and other petroleum products; joint ventures in refining, petroleum storage infrastructure and terminal facilities; and shipping and logistics alliances that further strengthen the supply chain. Underpinning all of this is a deeper energy cooperation aligned with the strategic priorities of both nations and their shared goals for sustainability over the years ahead.
PSO also expressed its gratitude to Sheikh Khaled Ahmad Al Sabah, Managing Director International Marketing, KPC, and the entire KPC leadership and management team for their strategic vision, commercial insight and commitment to the enduring partnership.
“The bond between Kuwait and Pakistan transcends business. It is a relationship of solidarity, mutual respect and friendship between two nations,” a PSO spokesperson said. “PSO and KPC have the privilege of translating that national friendship into tangible value for the people of Pakistan, and we intend to keep doing so.”
PSO looks forward to welcoming Sheikh Khaled Ahmad Al Sabah and the KPC delegation to Pakistan to jointly commemorate this milestone of 50 years and to formalise the roadmap for the next 50.
By combining their strengths, capabilities and shared values, PSO and KPC remain committed to strengthening Pakistan’s energy security, supporting economic growth and building a sustainable energy future.
