ISLAMABAD : The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has delivered an exceptional performance during the Financial Year 2025-26, achieving remarkable milestones across all operational, technical, and commercial parameters. With significant reductions in line losses, record recovery performance, substantial revenue growth, continued system modernization, and an effective campaign against electricity theft, IESCO has once again reaffirmed its position as one of Pakistan’s leading power distribution companies.

Sharing details of the company’s outstanding performance, Chief Executive IESCO, Engineer Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood, stated that the IESCO Board of Directors had set a distribution loss target of 8.40% for FY 2025-26. However, through meticulous planning, effective monitoring, operational excellence, and the tireless efforts of the Operations, Construction, GSO, GSC, and Commercial formations, IESCO successfully reduced its line losses to 7.60%, significantly surpassing the assigned target.

He stated that this outstanding achievement reflects the professional leadership of the Board of Directors, the commitment of the management, and the dedication of IESCO’s workforce. On this occasion, he particularly congratulated Chief Engineer Operations, Muhammad Kashif Shah, Chief Engineer O&M, Zahid Saleem Usmani, and their respective teams for their exceptional leadership and invaluable contribution towards achieving this milestone.

The Chief Executive further stated that timely recovery of electricity dues remained one of IESCO’s highest priorities throughout the financial year. As a result of the unwavering commitment and coordinated efforts of the commercial formations, the company achieved an impressive 101% recovery rate, setting another benchmark in operational excellence. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to Chief Engineer Commercial Ghulam Sarwar, all Circle Heads, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers, SDOs, recovery teams, and field staff for their outstanding dedication and performance.

Engineer Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood further highlighted that accurate and timely billing, strict enforcement against electricity theft and defaulters, expansion and upgradation of the distribution network, commissioning of new grid stations, rehabilitation of overloaded feeders and transformers, preventive maintenance, and continuous system improvements collectively enabled IESCO to generate an additional revenue of Rs. 6.5 billion compared to the previous financial year. This additional amount has been deposited into the national exchequer, making a significant contribution towards strengthening Pakistan’s economy

He emphasized that these remarkable achievements are the result of the visionary guidance and continuous support of Chairman IESCO Board of Directors Dr. Tahir Masood, the respected members of the Board of Directors, and the unwavering commitment of the company’s management, engineers, officers, and employees.

Paying special tribute to IESCO’s field workforce, the Chief Executive remarked that the company’s line staff and recovery teams are the organization’s greatest asset and the true backbone of its operations. Working under extremely challenging conditions, including intense heat, heavy rains, storms, and emergency situations, they continue to ensure the uninterrupted supply of electricity to millions of consumers with exceptional professionalism, courage, and dedication.

Engineer Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood reaffirmed IESCO’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of performance, transparency, operational efficiency, and customer service. He expressed confidence that the company would continue to strengthen its power distribution system, improve service delivery, embrace modern technologies, reduce losses further, and make an even greater contribution to Pakistan’s economic development in the years ahead.
