ISLAMABAD : The Independent System & Market Operator of Pakistan ( Guaranteed ) Limited (ISMO) has constituted a Committee to analyse the justification of Moro-Matiari Transmission Line proposed by the National Grid Company (NGC), Newzshewz has learnt reliably.
Last week, Minister for Power Sardar Awais Khan Leghari presided over a meeting on the requirement of Moro-Matiari Transmission Line, which was attended by Secretary Power, Chief Executive Officer ISMO, Chairman Board NGC, Managing Director NGC and other officials.
During the meeting, Minister for Power directed National Grid Company to confirm the requirement of the proposed transmission line as IGCEP/ TESP approved by NGC and ISMO Boards.
In this regard, NGC has been requested to formally communicate its position, along with necessary technical and planning justifications, at the earliest to enable further necessary action.
According to sources, in pursuance of directions of Minister for Power, a Committee has been constituted to evaluate and verify the requirement or otherwise of the Moro-Matiari Transmission Line in coordination with the NGC.
The committee comprises the following members ;(i) Aijaz Ali, Senior Director( Network Operations)- Convener ;(ii) Shahbaz Ahmed, Senior Director (GP & LF) ;(iii) Saeed Ahmad Director LTP;(iv) Abdul Kabir, Director, Power Control ;(v) Saeed Akhtar, Director Generation Operational Planning;(vi) Umair Aslam, Deputy Director (LTP);(vii) Nabeel Ali, Deputy Director(Technical ) ;( viii) Salman Gul, Deputy Director( Technical) and ;(ix) Deputy Director, Research and Development.
The Terms and Reference (ToRs) of the Committee are as follows ;(i) analyze the justification presented by the NGC for the transmission line;(ii) assess the current and future network requirements and potential impact of the proposed line ; and (iii) submit a consolidated report with findings and recommendations for onward submission to the Power Division.
