Ministries told to fill vacant positions at PSEs Boards without delay

ISLAMABAD : The Prime  Minister Office (PMO)  has directed all the Ministries/ Divisions to expedite process to fulfill vacant positions in the Boards of all Public Sector Entities which are necessary for effective and efficient functions of entities, sources told Newzshewz.

 In a letter to all the Ministries/ Divisions,  Advisor  to the Prime Minister, Dr. Syed Tauqir Shah has stated that the  present incumbency and vacancy position of Board of Directors of different Public Sector Entities (PSEs) was placed before the Prime Minister; whereby, it was observed that , despite constant push from Prime Minister Office (PMO), quite a number of Boards are still incomplete and either  regular or casual positions on different Boards are still vacant.

  Considering that completion of BoDs of PSEs is imperative for effective and efficient functioning of these PSEs, the Prime Minister has directed that the process of filling-up of vacancies on all Boards of PSEs shall be completed within a period of one month.

In this behalf the following timelines shall also be followed: (i) in  such cases, where the process of selection of Directors stand completed and final of  approval of the Federal Cabinet is awaited, the Cabinet Division shall place all such summaries in the next meeting of tie Federal Cabinet;(ii)  In case, the Board Nomination Committees (BNCs)  have already given their recommendations in the matter and cases are yet to be processed by the respective Divisions, the summaries for Prime Minister shall immediately be furnished by the Divisions within a week’s time, positively; (iii) In case the recommendations of BNCs ate awaited, the requisite meetings shall be convened within a period of 10 – days; and, (iv) the  process of filling-up of casual vacancies on different Boards shall also be given due priority and further action in the matter shall also be taken accordingly.
