ISLAMABAD: The government has set power tariff for industry and agriculture sector at Rs 22.98/ kWh on incremental basis.
According Prime Minister Office, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s gift of the “Roshan Maeeshat Electricity Package” for the Development of National Industry and Agriculture
He announced the package during a meeting with a delegation of experts and representatives from the industrial and agricultural sectors.
Under the package, industries and farmers will be provided additional electricity at concessional rates over the next three years (from November 2025 to October 2028).
“The price of electricity units currently being provided to the industrial sector at Rs. 34 and to the agricultural sector at Rs. 38 per unit will be significantly reduced, and additional units will be supplied,” said the Prime Minister.
“For the next three years, additional electricity will be supplied to the industrial and agricultural sectors throughout the year at a rate of Rs. 22.98 per unit,” the Prime Minister added.
“The cost of electricity provided under the Roshan Maeeshat Electricity Package will not be borne by domestic consumers or any other sector,” stated the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister praised Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Leghari and his team for their commendable efforts in preparing this package.
“For the development of the national economy and to increase employment, the growth of industry and agriculture is absolutely essential,” said the Prime Minister.
“We are taking all possible measures to enhance the competitiveness of national industries and the agricultural sector in the region and to improve ease of doing business,” he added.
“Under the package announced last winter, the industrial and agricultural sectors consumed 410 gigawatt-hours of additional electricity,” noted the Prime Minister.
“As a result, industrial activity increased, exports grew, and new employment opportunities were created,” the Prime Minister stated.
“The journey from economic crisis to economic stability was difficult, but it became possible through the hard work of the economic team and your cooperation,” he said.
“When the industrial and agricultural sectors progress, the country will be freed from debt,” the Prime Minister affirmed.
“By the grace of Allah, our economic indicators have improved due to better policies,” said the Prime Minister.
“However, we must all continue to work even harder,” he emphasized.
“I firmly believe that with your cooperation and the tireless efforts of the economic team, we will soon achieve Pakistan’s goal of economic self-sufficiency,” concluded the Prime Minister.
