ISLAMABAD: The Establishment Division has requested an implementation report on the abolition of 60% of vacant regular posts across various Ministries and attached departments.

In a letter addressed to all Ministries, the Establishment Division referenced the Federal Cabinet’s decision to abolish these posts or declare them as “dying posts.” It noted that, in letters dated September 6, 9, and 18, 2024, it had already urged Principal Accounting Officers (PAOs) to implement this decision and share relevant notifications or orders issued by their respective divisions, attached departments, subordinate offices, and autonomous bodies. This information is needed to compile a consolidated implementation report for submission to the Federal Cabinet.

However, responses from most Ministries have either not been received or have provided incomplete information.

The letter emphasizes that the Establishment Division is responsible for implementing the Cabinet’s decision. Therefore, it requests that an Implementation Report covering the main Division and its organizational entities, along with the relevant notifications and orders, be submitted immediately for further consideration by the Cabinet.
