Islamabad : Central Poweer Purchasing Agency (CPPA) on Friday shared the details of capacity payment made to the IPPs from 2015 to 2024. The details of each plant is as follows.

Minister for Power, Awais Leghari said that the government will not alter contracts of Independent Power Producers (IPPs) one-sided and without mutual consensus of sponsors of those projects, saying that any such action can create a situation like Reko diq project.

Responding to volley of questions, he said that if the contract allows the government to recover excess payment allegedly made to the IPPs that amount will be recovered, and savings will be ensured from available space. He said, exact timeframe of report on IPPs will be shared next week.

Responding to a question on the proposal to the Minister to act like Muhammad Bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia on the contracts of IPPs, he replied that there is Constitution of Pakistan, and he cannot move outside the Constitution.
