ISLAMABAD : Saudi Arabia has enhanced its investment pledges to $ 2.8 billion from $ 2.2 billion as the number of MoUs is now 34 from 27 signed a couple of weeks in ago in Islamabad.
This was stated by Saudi Investment Minister, Khalid bin Abdulaziz Alfalih while talking to media along with Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif in Riyadh
Both sides reviewed the progress on various economic initiatives between the two countries.
Recalling the Saudi Investment Minister’s recent visit to Pakistan, earlier this month, along with a large private sector delegation, the Prime Minister noted that the Business-to-business MoUs signed in Pakistan during the visit have started to materialize into solid investment and commercial deals. He encouraged to continue the momentum for creating new opportunities for developing strong economic partnership.
The Prime Minister thanked Minister Khalid Al Falih for his efforts and commitment towards strong economic cooperation with Pakistan. He underscored the need to benefit from tremendous economic opportunities for both countries that have emerged in the backdrop of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif has now reached Doha along with federal Ministers. He is expected to request Qatari leadership to reschedule LNG cargoes as current Pakistan’s LNG consumption pattern in power sector has changed due to 8-10 per cent reduction electricity demand, Ends
