ISLAMABAD : Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) has sought a revision /modification of tariffs of its Karachi Nuclear Power Plants unit 2 and 3.
According to PAEC salient features of the petitions are as follows :
i. The maturity period of the PBC loan agreement has been extended by two years. ii. As per roll-over terms, a 2-year grace period from July 01, 2025 to June 30, 2027 has been agreed. iii. During the extension period, interest on loan shall accrue and be paid on the outstanding principal while no principal repayment shall be made. iv. Outstanding loan amounts have been converted to RMB.
v. The applicable interest rate on RMB loan shall be floating rate subject to a floor of 2% p.a. and cap of 3% p.a.
