ISLAMABAD : The Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik held a meeting today with representatives of the Oil Marketing Association of Pakistan (OMAP) and the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) to discuss industry recommendations for strengthening and modernizing the national petroleum supply chain.

During the meeting, industry stakeholders presented a comprehensive set of suggestions aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and resilience across the petroleum value chain. The Minister welcomed the proposals, emphasizing the government’s commitment for reform.

“We value the input of all stakeholders,” Ali Pervaiz Malik stated. “I encourage the regulator to address the areas highlighted by the industry. Together, we will work to transform the petroleum sector for the benefit of consumers, businesses, and the national economy.”

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s broader reform agenda, noting that Pakistan is moving decisively toward digitalization. “The petroleum supply chain must also evolve. Digitalization is essential for enhanced oversight, improved service delivery, and long-term sustainability,” he added.

Representatives from OCAC and OMAP appreciated the Minister’s initiative to directly engage with industry leadership. They described the meeting as “a welcome step,” noting that the Minister’s openness to dialogue reflects a positive shift toward inclusive policy-making. “It is encouraging to see the government sitting down with stakeholders and listening to our suggestions,” they said.
