ISLAMABAD: The “Apna Meter Apni Reading” App has been it has been downloaded by 1.5 million in power Distribution Companies (Discos) across the country.
Sharing the details, sources said, Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif had launched “Apna Meter Apni Reading” App launched on June 30, 2025. Since its launch, it has been downloaded by 1.5 million and is effectively being used by consumers.
According to sources, 60,059 consumers have sent their readings and have been ensured that they have received correct bill.
“74% consumers who uploaded their meter reading images fall under 0-300 units’ category. The effective usage of app by the consumers who uploaded their images are 27% MEPCO, 25% FESCO, 15% IESCO, 13% LESCO, 11% GEPCO, 7% PESCO and Rest are 2%,” sources added.
Customer awareness campaign through social media is underway to educate consumers for timely update of their meter reading images to ensure that no consumer is over billed.
The best performing DISCO among all providing relief to consumers by accepting their sent images IESCO 54, MEPCO 67%, LESCO 52%, GEPCO 51%, PESCO 49% and FESCO 48%. Ends
