ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s textile exports recorded a 7.22 per cent growth , reaching $ 17.88 billion during FY 2024–25, compared to $ 16.68 billion in the corresponding period of FY 2023–24.

According to data compiled by the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association(APTMA) , textile exports in June 2025 stood at $ 1.25 billion , reflecting a 7.75 per cent decline compared to $ 1.42 billion in June 2024.

However, textile exports are still down by 7.36 per cent from the peak of $ 19.3 billion achieved in FY 2021–22. In June 2022, exports were $ 1.71 billion , which have since declined to $ 1.53 billion .

Sector-wise export details will be available once the Pakistan Bureau of Statistic(PBS) releases its full report for FY 2025–26.

The slower growth in textile exports has been attributed to higher manufacturing cost as compared to regional competitors geopolitical disruptions including the conflict between Israel and Iran .

The Power Division has indicated that a significant portion of the cross -subsidy provided to protected power consumers has already been removed and will be further reduced to lessen the burden on the textile sector.
